Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist to join our collaborative division dedicated to clinical care, teaching, and research. You will provide expert GI care for children and contribute to our academic mission by mentoring residents and fellows.

Responsibilities include patient care across a spectrum of GI conditions, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and participation in teaching and scholarly activities. Ohio-based license required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Gastroenterology.
• Ability to obtain an Ohio medical license.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and academically driven team of 12 pediatric gastroenterologists and 7 nurse practitioners dedicated to advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology while meeting the needs of the Hospital's growing patient population. The Division provides comprehensive care for children with a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders, with specialized expertise in motility disorders, aerodigestive conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, and other complex digestive diseases.

In addition to providing outstanding clinical care, the successful candidate will play an active role in the Division's academic mission through the education and mentorship of pediatric residents, medical students, and pediatric gastroenterology fellows.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio
