Job summary

Akron Children's in Northeast Ohio is seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist to join a collaborative, academically driven division. You will work with 12 pediatric gastroenterologists and 7 nurse practitioners to advance patient care, teaching, and research across a range of GI, liver and nutritional disorders.

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology required or eligible.
• Ability to obtain active Ohio medical license.
• Experience in teaching and mentoring residents, medical students and fellows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to pediatric GI patients as part of a collaborative team.
• Participate in the division's academic mission through education and mentorship of residents, medical students and fellows.
• Contribute to ongoing research and scholarly activities within the division.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative and academically driven team of 12 pediatric gastroenterologists and 7 nurse practitioners dedicated to advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology while meeting the needs of the Hospital's growing patient population. The Division provides comprehensive care for children with a broad spectrum of gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and nutritional disorders, with specialized expertise in motility disorders, aerodigestive conditions, inflammatory bowel disease, and other complex digestive diseases.

In addition to providing outstanding clinical care, the successful candidate will play an active role in the Division's academic mission through the education and mentorship of pediatric residents, medical students, and pediatric gastroenterology fellows.

Requirements include MD or DO degree, board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics and board eligibility/certification in Pediatric Gastroenterology and the ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Ohio
