UNMH Jobs in Albuquerque is seeking a rotating PRN Nursing student to provide basic patient care across pediatric and other age groups in the Emergency Department. The role includes vital sign collection, ADL support, and strict adherence to safety policies.

You will document care in the EMR, participate in educational activities, and progress toward RN licensure within six weeks, with supervision by the Charge Nurse and clinical team.

Qualifications

• Nursing student in first semester with first clinical.
• Bilingual with English and another language is a plus.
• CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider within 30 days.
• RN licensure expected within 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient to ensure safety and well-being; report observations.
• Take and record vital signs: temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, BP, intake-output.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADL): meals, ambulation, hygiene, linen change, toileting.
• Maintain plan of care and minute-to-minute care for high-risk patients.
• Complete EMR documentation.
• Follow safety policies and report safety concerns.
• Encourage patient participation in their own care.
