Job summary

Connecticut Children’s seeks a Pediatric Epileptologist to provide expert clinical care for infants, children, and adolescents with epilepsy. The role focuses on ambulatory epilepsy, EMU coverage, and multidisciplinary evaluations, with time also spent on general pediatric neurology in ambulatory and inpatient settings.

Ideal candidates will have MD/DO with pediatric neurology training and fellowship in epilepsy or clinical neurophysiology, plus board eligibility/certification.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with pediatric neurology training.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with epilepsy and related neurologic disorders.
• Interpret routine, ambulatory, and long-term video EEG monitoring studies.
• Direct and participate in Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) care.
• Develop individualized treatment plans including antiseizure medications, dietary therapies, neuromodulation therapies, and referral for epilepsy surgery evaluation.
• Collaborates with neurosurgery, neuropsychology, neuroradiology and other specialists for comprehensive care.
• Participates in Epilepsy Surgery Conferences and maintains accurate medical records.
