Job summary

The Pediatric Epileptology division at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a full-time pediatric epileptologist (MD/DO) to join a nationally recognized team. The role includes outpatient and inpatient care, EEG interpretation, and participation in a comprehensive epilepsy program with advanced neurodiagnostic and surgical options.

Ideal candidates are board-certified or eligible in Neurology with Child Neurology, and in Epilepsy/Clinical Neurophysiology, ready

Qualifications

• MD/DO in Neurology with pediatric subspecialty training in Child Neurology.
• Board Certification or Eligibility in Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology.
• Strong experience in inpatient/outpatient epilepsy care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive epilepsy care including medication, dietary, neurostimulation and surgical options.
• Staff epilepsy monitoring units for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Read long-term and routine EEGs and collaborate with neurosurgery and neuropsychology teams.

Job description

The Pediatric Neurology Division at Atrium Health Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a full-time pediatric epileptologist (MD/DO) to join a nationally recognized team.

We are seeking a pediatric epileptologist to join our current group of 4 pediatric epileptologists and 2 epilepsy APPs. This is a clinically focused position with a strong emphasis on providing comprehensive and compassionate epilepsy care including medication, dietary, neurostimulation and surgical treatments for our patients. The role includes both outpatient clinic and inpatient care staffing our epilepsy monitoring units, as well as, reading long term and routine EEG. We prioritize patient care and collaborative teamwork to create a positive work environment.

Program Highlights

• 8-bed NAEC Level III Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in Concord, NC
• 6-bed NAEC Level IV Adult/Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in Charlotte, NC
• Ketogenic Diet Program
• Comprehensive multidisciplinary pediatric subspecialty network
• Comprehensive Pediatric Neurosurgery program
• State of the art technologies- (SEEG, laser ablation therapies, intra-operative MRI, transcranial magnetic stimulation, etc)

Team Based Care - Thriving team comprised of 4 physicians & 2 epilepsy APPs, as part of a larger pediatric neurology group including 7 general pediatric neurologists and 4 APPs. Close collaboration with 3 pediatric neurosurgeons, inpatient and outpatient nurse navigators and pediatric neuropsychologists.
