Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology in caring for pediatric patients with diabetes and other endocrine conditions. The role supports outpatient clinics, on-call responsibilities, and telehealth options where appropriate.

The successful candidate will be a NP with pediatric endocrinology experience or primary care pediatric NP, with licensure and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Primary Care Pediatric NP or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PCPNP/PNP) with pediatric patient experience.
• Family NP (FNP) with breadth of primary care across lifespan.

Responsibilities

• Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations.
• Evaluates and treats based on tests and guidelines.
• Initiates referrals to other providers or consults with physicians.
• Documents and bills for direct care provided.
• Uses current research and evidence-based decision making in practice.
• Performs quality improvement and clinical research activities.
• Supports accreditation, compliance, and regulatory activities.
• Precepts students and mentors new team members where needed.
• Maintains licenses and certifications as required by state law.
• May travel between area clinical locations (North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Downtown Charleston).
