Job summary

Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is seeking a motivated Nurse Practitioner to join the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. The role involves caring for minors and young adults with diabetes and endocrine disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings, educating families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have pediatric diabetes experience and expertise with insulin pumps and CGMs, possess Pediatric NP certification, and will obtain Florida licensure by hire

Qualifications

• Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification is required.
• Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
• BLS and PALS from AHA or ARC are required.
• Experience managing diabetes, obesity, insulin pumps and CGMs is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is seeking a motivated and dynamic Nurse Practitioner to join its growing team of providers. The selected candidate will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide specialized care to minors and young adults with diabetes, metabolic, and endocrine disorders in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities will include educating new onset diabetics, reviewing insulin pump and glucometer data with patients, and triaging diabetic emergency calls. The ideal candidate should have experience managing patients with diabetes, obesity, diabetic pumps, and continuing glucose monitoring systems (CGMs). Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a national Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification. A BLS and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
Schedule requirements are 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity
