Job summary

OU Health is seeking an experienced RN II for the Pediatric Emergency Department night shift. The role emphasizes high level clinical skills, patient-centered care, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient care.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's or Bachelor’s in Nursing, 3-5 years of RN experience, and an Oklahoma RN license with BLS certification. Specialty certifications are preferred and ongoing professional growth is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• 3-5 years of RN experience required.
• Current RN license (OK) or compact.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Specialty certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aligns with OU Health values and nursing practice standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to interventions and orders.
• Assists physician in exams and minor procedures.
• Monitors patient data and intervenes as needed.
• Administers prescribed medications.
• Begins and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers care and seeks coaching when needed.
• Resolves patient concerns in collaboration with staff.
• Informs patients/families of care plan and discharge steps.
• Refers care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Pursues mentorship and maintains licensure for ongoing proficiency.
• Develops professional goals aligned with department metrics.
• Fosters inclusive workforce and teamwork.
• Delegates tasks to support staff.
• Communicates care plan with family during stay and discharge.
• Provides learning opportunities to others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
