Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Pediatric Echocardiography Specialist to perform advanced pediatric echocardiograms in inpatient and outpatient settings. The role requires interpretation of varied cardiac structures, artifact differentiation, and adaptation of exams to clinical questions.

Two years of echocardiography experience preferred. RDCS_AE or RCS certification within one year, with pediatric registry within 12 months of hire; sign-on bonus eligible and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Advanced training beyond high school that includes the completion of an accredited or approved program in Sonography.
• Two years of experience in adult echocardiography preferred.
• Registered in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS_AE) or RCS certification within one year.
• Must obtain pediatric registry status within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform pediatric echocardiograms in inpatient and outpatient settings using multiple systems and accessories.
• Interpret examinations, differentiate artifacts from true findings, and tailor exams to clinical questions.
• Recognize various cardiac defects and perform emergency examinations in multiple units.
• Maintain records, communicate findings to physicians and families, and ensure billing accuracy.
