Job summary

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a part-time Sonographer (50%, 20 hours per week) for the Urbandale Clinic. The role involves performing complex ultrasound procedures, including pediatric echocardiography, under physician supervision, with opportunities to lead projects and develop protocols.

Qualifications

• Registration by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in at least one specialty (e.g., Pediatric Echocardiography)
• Completion of an accredited sonography program or equivalent
• Experience performing complex ultrasound and Doppler studies

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostic ultrasonography procedures including imaging and Doppler.
• Consult with interpreting physician regarding exam findings.
• Document exam information per departmental standards; ensure diagnostic quality of images.
• Instruct sonography students and medical residents on equipment operation.
