Qualifications

• Technical diploma in Dietetic education or a Bachelor's degree in a nutrition-related field.

Responsibilities

• Screens/rescreens patients for nutrition risk per established criteria and documents results in medical records, referring to the Clinical Dietitian as needed.
• Performs nutrient intake analysis and calorie-count studies; calculates nutrient intake data and documents results in the patient record.
• Communicates effectively with clinicians and diet office staff; provides dietitian with information on nutritional issues; assists with DME activities; participates in departmental meetings; coordinates special patient requests to implement accurate diet orders.
• Provides age-appropriate patient education and menu adjustments; educates on formula preparation, Food/Drug interactions, Healthy Eating Guidelines, and restrictions; assists patients with menu selections for specialized diet types.
• Collects and inputs data for the Departmental Quality Control Plan (formula room or audits, NPO/CL monitoring, Food/Drug education compliance).
• Adjusts care to accommodate all age groups including Neonates, Infants, Toddler, Preschool, School Age, Adolescent, and Adult.

Education

Dietetic education program diploma

Bachelor's degree in Nutrition-related field

DTR registered (Dietetic Technician Registered)
