Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a compassionate pediatric dentist to join the Division of Pediatric Dentistry as a full-time faculty member. This role blends hospital-based clinical care with resident education, BioDente predoctoral teaching, and interdisciplinary program development, starting as a founding member of a CODA-accredited residency program.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree from a CODA-accredited dental school.
• Certificate in pediatric dentistry from a CODA-accredited advanced education program.
• Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry; active progress toward certification is expected.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an unrestricted Ohio dental license and hospital staff privileges.
• Current BLS and PALS certification, and applicable sedation credentials as required.
• Commitment to high-quality, family-centered, equitable care and teaching in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-based clinical care for infants to young adults with complex needs.
• Supervise and educate pediatric dental residents and predoctoral students; participate in teaching activities.
• Contribute to curriculum design, assessment, and program evaluation for CODA accreditation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance access and outcomes.
• Engage in quality improvement, patient safety, and scholarly activities.
• Participate in committees and foster an inclusive learning environment.
