Qualifications

• PhD/DO not applicable
• DDS/DMD required or equivalent from ADA CODA-accredited program
• Board eligibility or board certification in pediatric dentistry
• Current state dentistry license
• Vaccination for Hepatitis B
• Malpractice insurance coverage
• BLS/CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Promote oral health and disease prevention
• Diagnose oral diseases
• Educate patients on oral health and treatment options
• Create treatment plans to maintain or restore patient’s oral health
• Review treatment plan options with patients
• Review and maintain patients’ medical and dental records
• Review and interpret x-rays and diagnostic tests; monitor growth and development of teeth and jaws
• Provide proper restorative and preventive dental care
• Maintain high quality standard of care for all patients
• Maintain high ethical and professional standards in the office
• Keep abreast of new developments and continuing education

Education

DMD or DDS degree

Board eligible or board certified in pediatric dentistry

Current state license to practice dentistry

Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination

Proof of malpractice insurance

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification
