Job summary

The Dr. Edward F. Zapert Dental Clinic – The Molar Express in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a Dental Hygienist to deliver quality dental services, ensure confidentiality, monitor sterilization, and support community dental programs through the SMILE United initiative.

Licensed dental hygienists will perform clinical duties including sealants, fluoride, radiographs and patient education while maintaining records and complying with ADA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively and to maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Participates in School Based Sealant Program, Early Head Start, Head Start, Early Learning Coalition programs and other community programs.
• Removes calculus deposits, accretions and stains from exposed surfaces of teeth and in gingival sulcus; perform gingival curettage and root planning as needed.
• Polishes clinical crowns and instructs patients in oral hygiene care.
• Places and exposes digital radiographs.
• Enter procedures and billing into HMS within 5 calendar days; follow up with referrals.
• Sterilization, disinfection, cleaning and maintenance of instruments and operatories.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and order to prevent depletion.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services to stay current with rules and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required by supervisor.
