Job summary

Preferred candidates include RN nursing students currently enrolled in a nursing program. The position is part-time with variable shifts and emphasizes teamwork, safety, and compassionate patient care in a pediatric setting.

Qualifications

• Obtains vital signs and measurements as part of routine patient assessments.
• Provides or assists with basic care and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Documents patient care according to department guidelines.
• Assists with admissions, transfers and discharges as directed by licensed staff.
• Communicates patient and family information to the health care team.
• Acts as courier between ancillary departments as needed to meet daily unit requirements.
• Keeps patient supplies and equipment organized, clean, and stocked.
• Performs other duties as assigned by licensed staff.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient care (V/S, I&O, measurements, ADL support) as delegated by licensed nursing staff.
• Documents patient care and other assignments per department guidelines.
• Assists with patient admissions, transfers and discharges per direction from licensed staff.
• Communicates patient needs to the care team to tailor the plan of care.
• Works as a courier between departments as required to meet unit needs.
• Performs clerical tasks such as reception, phones, and supply management.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are organized, clean, and stocked.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
