Qualifications

• Graduate of a nurse anesthesia education program accredited by the AANA Council of Accreditation.
• Successfully passed the national certifying examination within one year of completing didactic and clinical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, age-appropriate anesthesia per established guidelines and clinical privileges.
• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgeries and procedures.
• Conduct pre- and post-anesthetic evaluations and obtain informed consent.
• Perform induction, maintenance, emergence and post-anesthesia care.
• Consult on airway management and participate in codes as directed by a supervising anesthesiologist.
• Support residents and students on anesthesia rotations.
• Report to nurse manager/director and coordinate patient care using nursing processes.
• Foster a learning environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Demonstrate safety, apply evidence-based practices, and engage in ongoing professional development.
• Lead and coordinate teams, delegating and collaborating within the inter-professional care team.
