Job summary

Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, NY seeks a full-time Pediatric Critical Care Physician to join our Pediatric Hospitalist team. You will cover a 20-bed pediatric floor on a 12-hour shift with 24/7 in-house coverage, collaborate with pediatric subspecialists, PICU, and PEM fellowship, and supervise residents in training.

The role offers opportunities for academic appointment within our accredited pediatric residency and fellows programs, plus a comprehensive benefits package

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Eligible in Pediatric Critical Care.
• NYS Physician's license.

Responsibilities

• Participation in teaching of residents and medical students, including lectures, precepting and small group teaching.
• Providing supervision and mentoring to medical students, as well as the residents enrolled within the Pediatric residency training and fellowship programs.
• Participation in continuing medical education programs as appropriate.
• Assisting in the development of research and performance improvement initiatives established by the Chair of the Department.
• Maintaining high standards and quality of care to the patients cared for.
• Promoting high quality, cost effective care based on the best medical evidence.
• Participating in data collection to assess patient care and satisfaction studies.
• Making best efforts to keep current with developments in pediatrics, medical management and related areas through CME programs, medical literature review and medical staff conferences
