Job summary

MedCare Pediatric is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our pediatric outpatient therapy team in a clinic-based setting. You will work under the supervision of a licensed OT to help children develop fine motor, sensory, coordination, and self-care skills, while supporting families throughout their therapeutic journey.

You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PTs, SLPs, and BCBA professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license or eligible to obtain licensure by anticipated start date.
• Pediatric occupational therapy experience preferred; new graduates encouraged to apply.
• Experience working with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), sensory processing challenges, or neurological conditions is a plus.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for working with children and supporting families.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans focused on improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, visual‑motor skills, coordination, strength, self‑care skills, and independence.
• Assist children in achieving developmental milestones through engaging and age‑appropriate therapeutic activities.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and patient progress.
• Communicate with families and caregivers regarding therapy goals and progress.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other pediatric therapy team members to ensure high‑quality patient care.
• Maintain a fun, safe, and encouraging clinic environment for children and families.
