Job summary

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking a Pediatric General Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Section of Pediatric Colorectal Surgery at CHCO in Aurora, CO. This is a full-time 1.0 FTE position providing inpatient and outpatient care under the supervision of faculty.

The role emphasizes clinic work (SB/SCI, colorectal, bowel management), telehealth, inpatient care management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Master's degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges.
• Meets requirements of the Nursing Credential Review Board (NP) and Medical Review Board (PA).
• AC certification required for direct patient management in ED and inpatient areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent clinical care for pediatric colorectal surgery patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Participate in SB/SCI and colorectal clinics; manage bowel programs and transitions of care.
• Conduct outpatient telehealth visits and dedicated weekly billable telehealth sessions.
• In inpatient care management, perform rounds, orders, admissions, discharges and care coordination.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality outcomes and continuity of care.
• Engage in clinical research, quality improvement, and program development as applicable.
