Job summary

Pediatric Health Choice is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support the nursing team in New Orleans, LA. You will assist with routine pediatric care, data collection, and maintaining a safe, clean, and compassionate environment for children.

This full-time position (30+ hours/week) offers flexible hours within a pediatric-focused program, with CPR certification required. Responsibilities include meals per plan, isolation care as needed, and active participation in team meetings and care

Qualifications

• Completion of a pediatric basic life support certification course; current CPR card.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational school for CNAs.
• Minimum one year experience in the care of infants, toddlers and children.

Responsibilities

• Assists nursing team in the delivery of routine child care activities.
• Performs clinical skills according to established standards of care; assists nurse with treatments/procedures as requested.
• Participates in data collection (VSS, BP, weights, specimen collection).
• Records clinical findings, patient information, interventions, and patient responses in designated records.
• Reports to designated Registered Nurse any issues requiring assessment or intervention.
• Maintains confidentiality of patients and families; ensures safe unit environment.
• Manages specialized patient care (e.g., child in isolation) as assigned.
• Attends care conferences and clinical inservices as appropriate.
• Prepares meals for children per meal plan guidelines or prescribed nutritional plan.
• Maintains stock of food/formula; checks expiration dates; disposes of expired items.
