Job summary

The University of Mississippi Medical Center's Children's Lab seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform a full range of tests across hematology, microbiology, immunology, and chemistry at the Main Campus Jackson lab.

This 100% FTE position requires licensure within 1 year post-hire and adherence to strict safety and quality standards. Candidates must meet all job requirements at submission and be able to manage data and instrumentation effectively.

Qualifications

• Certification/licensure required within 1 year post-hire.
• Experience with hematology, microbiology, immunology or clinical chemistry is preferred.
• Knowledge of lab safety and quality control.

Responsibilities

• Performs range of laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
• Analyzes samples for chemical content and reaction.
• Maintains and calibrates lab equipment and trains staff in proper techniques.
• Ensures safety and infection control practices.
