Detroit Medical Center's Nutrition Services is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) for a staff position in Hamtramck, Michigan. The role conducts nutrition assessments, develops care plans, and collaborates with medical staff to deliver optimized nutrition therapy across patient populations.

The RDN will participate in rounds, educate interns, and support ongoing research and program development, within a comprehensive Tenet Healthcare benefits framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition/Dietetics.
• Dietetic Internship in healthcare setting or completion of a supervised practice program.
• Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or registry eligible passing the registry exam within 6 months of internship.

Responsibilities

• Performs as a resource person for hospital personnel regarding nutrition and participates in multidisciplinary rounds.
• Researches and develops programs for dietetic interns and provides education.
• Participate in research projects and nutrition related programs.
• Works with outside agencies to obtain ongoing assistance for patients.
• Maintains hospital and departmental policies and contributes to process improvement.
• Inventory and order office and tube feeding supplies.
• Directs foodservice staff to ensure nutritional care and adherence to dietary regimens.
• Formulates special recipes or plans to meet patient needs.
• Promotes guest relations and high-quality patient service.
