Job summary

The University of Chicago Department of Pediatrics, Section of Cardiology, and Comer Children's Hospital are seeking full-time Clinical Associates at 100% effort, for up to one-year renewable terms. Responsibilities include outpatient clinics, inpatient consultations, procedures, and reading cardio‑diagnostic testing as applies to the specialty field.

These positions do not require teaching or scholarly activity. These positions are benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Medical doctorate or equivalent required.
• Hold or be eligible for medical licensure in Illinois and Indiana.
• Board certified or board eligible in pediatric cardiology.
• Completed fellowship in pediatric cardiology or subspecialty.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient clinic coverage in pediatric cardiology.
• Conduct inpatient consultations for pediatric patients.
• Perform procedures and read cardio-diagnostic tests as applicable.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team, with no teaching requirements.

The Chicagoland Children's Health Alliance’s Cardiovascular service line is among the nation's top Children's heart programs in the country. Our multidisciplinary team includes cardiologists, fellows, 3 board congenital heart surgeons, and a dedicated cardiac anesthesia service. Our cardiac surgeons perform over 400 cardiac operations per year and achieve outcomes that rank among the best in the nation (STS‑CHS‑Database).

We also have one of the highest ambulatory clinic volumes in the country with clinic sites throughout Chicago, the Chicago suburbs, Northern Illinois, and Northern Indiana. Our cardiac program is one of the largest in the Midwest and provides expertise in echocardiography, advanced cardiac imaging CT/MRI, electrophysiology, interventional cardiac catheterisation, fetal cardiology, adult congenital heart disease, Marfan Syndrome, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, cardiac critical care, and preventative and rehabilitative cardiology.

Qualifications
