Job summary

Cook Children’s Health Care System in Fort Worth, TX seeks an outstanding Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist to support its growing CVICU and heart center. You will join a nationally recognized program with expansion plans and collaborative teams.

The ideal candidate should have board eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care, CVICU experience, and expertise in ECMO, ventilator support, and postoperative care for congenital heart disease.

Qualifications

• Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Intensive Care.
• Completion of a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Fellowship and/or 3–5 years of CVICU experience.
• Demonstrated expertise across the full spectrum of pediatric cardiac critical care, including ECMO and postoperative care of CHD and adult congenital heart disease patients.
• Proven success collaborating with all members of the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Program team.

Key Opportunity Highlights

• Group of 9 Cardiac Intensivists supporting a 14‑bed CVICU and growing Heart Center that encompasses 450-500 surgical cases annually, 500 cardiac catheterizations, 220 EP studies performed annually and expanding heart failure and cardiac transplant programs.
• New $1 billion West Tower expansion featuring 760,000 square feet of clinical space, including 143 NICU beds, 56 PICU beds, and technically advanced operating rooms for specialized programs in orthopedic spine surgery, neurosurgery, cardiac surgery, and robotics.
• Opportunities for leadership in the PC National Quality Improvement Collaborative and across programmatic subspecialty programs, including, but not limited to, Heart Failure and Transplantation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Intensive Care
• Completion of a Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Fellowship and/or 3-5 years of CVICU experience
• Demonstrated expertise and knowledge across the full spectrum of pediatric cardiac critical care, including ventilator management, central and arterial line placement, ECMO, management of neonates with congenital heart disease before and after surgery, postoperative care of adult congenital heart disease patients, and postoperative management of cardiac transplant patients.
• Proven success collaborating with all members of the Congenital Cardiac Surgery Program team.
