Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is expanding its Advanced Practice Provider team in a state‑of‑the‑art 44‑bed Cardiac Intensive Care Unit as part of a new Heart Center. We seek diverse, motivated clinicians to join a collaborative team of APPs, Attending Physicians and Fellows.

You will care for critically ill pediatric cardiac patients, with comprehensive orientation and opportunities to participate in rounds, research and education. Expect a competitive sign-on bonus and robust benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree from an NP or PA program.
• Minimum of 2 years of critical care RN/NP/PA experience.
• Solid knowledge base in cardiopulmonary critical care with interest in congenital cardiac conditions.
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability in a busy CICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to infants, children, and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease in the CICU.
• Collaborate with the CICU Attending physician for assessments, history, exams and diagnoses.
• Participate in CICU rounds, present clinical information, and manage plans across shifts.
• Perform pre- and post-operative care for critically ill cardiac patients, including vent management and inotropic support.
• Assist with procedures such as intubation and central lines in simulation and real settings.
• Engage in orientation, ongoing education, and CICU research committees; educate staff and families.
