Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Institute is seeking a qualified Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner for a full-time position in the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. The APRN/PA will care for critically ill patients, including pre and post-operative care for congenital heart disease, often on vasoactive support and life-sustaining therapies.

Qualifications

• APRN or PA with required licensure and collaboration with physician.
• Two years clinical advanced practice nursing experience preferred for APRN.
• Two years relative clinical experience preferred for PA.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medical histories and physical examinations; develop working diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and other health professionals to ensure quality patient care.
• Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by state and policy.
• Perform procedures such as injections, wound care, bone marrow sampling, and other defined tasks.
• Educate patients about disease, treatments, and preventive health topics.
• Participate in rounds and coordinate continuity of care with the multidisciplinary team.
• Refer patients to specialists and assist in discharge planning.
• Support data analysis, quality monitoring, and research follow-up.
