Job description

The Congenital Heart Collaborative at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital seeks a Pediatric Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our growing team in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital is ranked among the nation’s Best Children’s Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report 2024-25 in 11 specialties, including Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery.

The Congenital Heart Collaborative (TCHC) is a pioneering partnership between the heart centers at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital (Cleveland) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (Columbus). Through this dedicated, comprehensive heart program, access to high-quality cardiac care is expanded, while embracing Rainbow’s scholarly and educational mission: To Heal, To Teach, To Discover. The position offers a very competitive salary and benefits package.

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will join an outstanding team of board-certified pediatric cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons who model collaboration, teamwork, and dedication to their patients and partners. At UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, you will have the chance to represent and further the division’s impact locally, nationally, and internationally.

The Heart Center includes ten pediatric cardiologists, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced imaging, fetal cardiology, adult-congenital heart disease, general cardiologists and congenital cardiovascular surgeons. On the Rainbow campus, cardiac surgeries of all complexities are performed, as well as fetal cardiac interventions and complex pediatric electrophysiology and catheterization procedures in our state-of-the-art Catheterization and Electrophysiology Suites. A strong and growing fetal program performs over 1,000 fetal echocardiograms annually and has launched a highly successful fetal intervention program in conjunction with maternal-fetal medicine and TCHC colleagues.

With advanced imaging capabilities—including transthoracic, transesophageal, fetal, and 3D echocardiography, cardiac MRI and CTA, cardiac stress MRI, fetal cardiac MRI, and 3D modeling/printing—you will join an innovative and comprehensive program well-regarded for clinical excellence and education.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide all aspects of electrophysiology services, including electrophysiology studies, RF ablation and cryoablation, and device implantation.
  • Participate in specialized device services/clinics, channelopathy, sudden death, and autonomic dysfunction clinics.
  • Care for those with arrhythmias starting in fetal life through adulthood.
  • Research, quality improvement, administrative development, leadership, education, and support for academic pursuits are available.
  • Academic rank and appointment with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine at the level of Assistant, Associate or Professor will be determined by the candidate’s credentials and experience as reviewed by the Committee on Appointments, Promotion, and Tenure.

With over 60 years of experience in the care of pediatric and ACHD patients, UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital also provides the support of an outstanding educational and research enterprise at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and an internationally recognized program partner in the Nationwide Children’s Heart Center. TCHC is a dedicated service line with common executive administration operating as one cohesive program across two campuses, with the commitment to expand access to high-quality comprehensive cardiac care along with a scholarly and educational mission. TCHC provides excellent comprehensive cardiothoracic surgical, interventional, electrophysiologic, and non-invasive services.

Qualifications:
  • MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Cardiology. Additional fellowship training, board certification and other professional interests welcomed.
  • Advanced training in performing and interpreting invasive and noninvasive electrophysiology procedures, or equivalent experience.
  • Commitment to the hospital’s mission: To Heal, To Teach, To Discover.
Application Process:

Join us in advancing pediatric heart care and helping continue a tradition of excellence in pediatric cardiology. For complete details and confidential consideration, please submit your CV and letter of interest to:
