Job summary

Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, FL, seeks a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The role includes anesthesia for cardiac surgeries, catheterizations, electrophysiology studies, and non-cardiac procedures in children with congenital or acquired heart disease.

The ideal candidate has extensive pediatric cardiac anesthesia experience, with single ventricle physiology and neonatal cardiology expertise, and will supervise CRNAs/CAAs while teaching residents

Qualifications

• ACGME residency training and a fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
• ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology.
• Experience with pediatric cardiac anesthesia, teaching, and clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia and sedation services for pediatric cardiac procedures and non-cardiac cases.
• Supervise CRNAs and CAAs within a multidisciplinary cardiac team.
• Educate medical students and anesthesia residents in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
• Participate in quality assessment initiatives and implement best practices.

Nemours Children's Hospital, located in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our team!

One of the nation's largest pediatric health systems, Nemours Children's Health, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our dedicated and collegial team at the Nemours Children's Hospital, Orlando, Florida. We are looking for an experienced, compassionate physician to provide anesthesia and sedation services for pediatric patients requiring cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, cardiac imaging, and for those with congenital or acquired heart disease requiring non-cardiac procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience caring for patients with complex congenital heart disease, including single ventricle physiology and critical neonatal cardiac conditions.

The pediatric cardiac anesthesiologist's role is an integral part of a multidisciplinary cardiac team and includes supervision of CRNAs and CAAs, education of medical students and anesthesia residents pursuing pediatric cardiac anesthesia electives and working closely with our pediatric cardiac intensivists assisting with invasive monitoring placement, airway management, and bedside procedures.

In addition, the physician will participate in department and hospital-wide quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance care delivery and leading efforts to implement best practices.

This position includes the opportunity for a faculty appointment at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Research opportunities are available both through collaboration across the Nemours Children's Health system and the UCF academic community.

Requirements:

• ACGME residency training and subsequent fellowship.
• ABA certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology with a focus on Pediatric Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology.
• Comprehensive experience in pediatric cardiac anesthesia, teaching, and clinical research.
