Job summary

Interim Healthcare is seeking a compassionate RN or LPN to provide one-on-one nursing care for a special needs child during school transportation, riding the bus to and from school.

This rewarding role focuses on safety, comfort, and responsive care throughout the day, with a consistent school-year schedule and collaboration with the family, school staff, and healthcare team. Pediatric care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Kansas RN or LPN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• Pediatric or home health experience preferred.
• Experience caring for medically complex children is a plus.
• Reliable, compassionate, and patient.
• Comfortable working independently with a child.
• Strong communication and safety skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one nursing care for a child with special healthcare needs.
• Ride the school bus with the child to and from school.
• Monitor the child's condition throughout transportation.
• Provide medications and treatments as ordered.
• Assist with medical equipment and specialized needs.
• Respond appropriately to changes in the child's condition.
• Communicate with the family, school staff, and healthcare team.
• Help ensure the child has a safe, comfortable, and positive school experience.
