Job summary

Acadia Healthcare's Southwood Children’s Behavioral Healthcare in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care in a behavioral health setting. You will assess needs, develop care plans, administer medications, and work with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery.

We require graduation from an accredited nursing program with an active PA RN license, 1 year of nursing experience (psychiatric experience a plus), and CPR/de-escalation

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Must possess a current Registered Nurse (RN) license as required by the state of PA.
• One year of nursing experience; previous psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance use nursing experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and their families about various physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice as defined by state regulations and facility policies.
• Ensure physicians’ orders are legible and transcribed correctly.
• Assess patient status continuously and document findings.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status and treatment challenges.
• Complete admission and discharge processing accurately.
