Job summary

Meel Pediatrics seeks a behavioral health clinician to join our pediatric primary care team, delivering fully integrated behavioral health services within a family-centered medical home. You will provide consultative support, conduct initial and follow‑up consultations, and help patients and families reach targeted behavioral goals.

Role requires Massachusetts independent practice licensure (LICSW or LMHC) and experience with children and families; prior pediatric or primary care experience is

• License to practice independently in Massachusetts (LICSW or LMHC).
• Experience with children, adolescents, and families.
• Experience with behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief interventions is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative support to primary care providers and clinical staff.
• Complete real-time initial consultations and follow-up care as needed.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to help children and families achieve goals.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation in the practice’s EHR.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development for integrated care.
• Identify patients at risk and provide preventive interventions.
• Assist in care management processes and educate patients for self-management.
• Contribute to evolving integration efforts by identifying problems and recommending improvements.

Exciting Opportunity in Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration

At Meel Pediatrics, we are committed to making behavioral health an integral part of our primary care services. Our primary care providers work hand in hand with our integrated behavioral health clinician, to help the children and families we care for.

The successful candidate will join our clinical provider team, to deliver fully integrated behavioral health services to our patients. Working within our family-centered medical home, the behavioral health clinician will:

• Provide consultative support to primary care providers and clinical staff


• Complete real-time, initial consultations, and scheduled follow‑up care as needed


• Deliver effective, evidence-based, interventions to help children and families achieve targeted behavioral goals


• Maintain up to date documentation in the practice’s electronic health record


• Actively participate in team meetings, and professional development that supports the practices’ integrated healthcare model


• Assist in identifying patients at risk of developing health problems, and provide preventive interventions to address the needs of these populations


• Assist the primary care team in developing care management processes, such as the use of guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education, to improve patient self-management


• Help evolve the practices integration efforts, by identifying problems and making recommendations for improvement

Required and Preferred Experience:

• A license for independent practice in Massachusetts (LICSW or LMHC) is required.


• Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is required


• Experience with behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief, solution-focused interventions is highly desirable


• Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative service delivery, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility and adaptability required to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, busy medical practice.


• Experience in pediatric primary care or other pediatric medical setting is preferred
