Job description

About Inter-American Development Bank

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is a multilateral development bank serving 48 member countries, with headquarters in Washington, DC. Founded in 1959, the IDB is the largest source of development financing for Latin America and the Caribbean, dedicated to improving lives in the region through sustainable development and social progress. IDB Invest is the private sector arm of the IDB Group and functions as an international financial institution committed to addressing the development needs of Latin America and the Caribbean. The organization supports sustainable enterprises and projects that deliver financial results while maximizing social and environmental impact in the region. IDB Invest operates in 26 countries, structured across four geographic regions and three industry verticals: Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Intermediaries, and Corporates. In response to evolving development needs, IDB Invest’s shareholders approved a $3.5 billion capitalization to implement a transformative new business model called “Originate to Share.” This strategic initiative will allow IDB Invest to significantly scale up its investments, nearly doubling annual financing from approximately $8 billion to $19 billion, and unlocking greater private sector participation to drive development and climate impact across the region. To implement this new business model, IDB Invest has reorganized its structure, creating the Financial Solutions, Mobilization, and Asset Sharing (FSM) Department, which supports industry and regional departments in structuring transactions, mobilizing assets for investors, and managing the equity business. The IDB Group is characterized as a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. The organization prioritizes an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding work environment where employees find purpose and do what they love. The institution is committed to driving innovation, intentionally including all voices, cultivating a sense of belonging, and championing fairness across its operations.
