Sylvania in Fredericksburg, Texas is seeking a qualified coach to provide instruction and guidance to students in various sports. Responsibilities include managing athletic competitions, supervising student athletes, and collaborating with school staff to enhance the educational development of participants.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree, a valid Texas teaching certificate, and possess at least 2 years of coaching experience. This full-time position also requires effective communication and organizational skills, with a focus on student growth and sportsmanship.
Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and ability to excel in assigned sport(s). Contribute to education program as a whole and to growth of students involved in athletics.
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
Assign and oversee completion of the work of assistant coaches and student athletic assistants.
Tools/Equipment Used: Athletic equipment, standard office equipment including computer and peripherals, and other instructional equipment; automated external defibrillator (AED); operate school bus
Posture: Prolonged standing; kneeling, squatting, bending, and stooping; frequent driving; moderate grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and reaching
