Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based in Menlo Park, CA and combines responsibilities as a Physical Education (PE) Teacher and Internal Substitute Teacher. As the PE Teacher, the individual will plan and deliver engaging physical education lessons, promote fitness and wellness, and manage a safe, inclusive environment for diverse learners. The role includes organizing and supervising physical activities, supporting sports programs, and assessing student progress. As an Internal Substitute Teacher, the individual will step into classrooms across disciplines as needed, follow lesson plans provided by other teachers, maintain classroom routines, and support student learning and behavior. The position also involves collaborating with colleagues, communicating with families as appropriate, participating in school events, and contributing to the broader school community.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Physical Education and Sports Coaching, with the ability to design safe, inclusive, and engaging physical activities.
• Demonstrated experience in Education and Teaching, including classroom management and support for diverse learning needs.
• Ability to contribute to Curriculum Development for PE and adapt instructional plans when serving as an internal substitute.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to creating an inclusive, student-centered environment that reflects the school’s mission and values.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Physical Education, or a related field; relevant teaching credential or license preferred.
• Experience working in secondary school settings and familiarity with independent or alternative education models is beneficial.
