Job summary

SEL is seeking a Project Engineer - Proposals Manager in multiple locations, including Lewis Center, OH. You will lead proposal development, estimate engineering services and costs, and coordinate risk assessment with customers and internal teams.

A strong engineering background and PMP or related credentials are valued. The role involves travel up to 25%, developing milestones, and ensuring timely submissions and execution dates, while aligning with scopes and budgets for successful project

Responsibilities

• Meet with sales reps and customers to discuss proposals.
• Estimate services, labor, equipment and subcontractor costs.
• Coordinate proposal development, review and submission.
• Assess project risks and proposed scope of work.
• Create front-end milestones and construction schedules.
• Track proposal status, due dates and execution timelines.

Job description

As a Project Engineer - Proposals Manager a typical day might include the following:

• Conduct business development meetings with sales representatives and customers
• Estimate Engineering Services and subcontractor labor, equipment, and expenses
• Orchestrate proposal development, internal review, and submission to customer
• Evaluate and quantify project risks in accordance with proposed scope of work
• Construct front-end milestone and construction schedules
• Ensure status for proposal submission , due dates , and estimated project execution dates are accurate

• Enjoy customer communication and serving as a trusted advisor
• Enjoy the autonomy of creating tools and templates to improve group processes and tracking

Required Qualifications:

• One of the following:
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • Associates Degree with minimum of 4 years relevant experience
  • PMP Certification or similar with 6 years relevant experience
• Basic knowledge of electric power system protection and control, integration and/or automation and communications applications
• Working knowledge of electric power system design, studies, information and communication technology and protective relay applications
• Willing to travel 25 % based on focus area
• Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
• Background check results satisfactory to SEL
• Negative drug test result (s)

Pay Range DataWe anticipate filling this position between $100,000 - $140,000. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job and responsibilities. We base our starting pay offer on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
