Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Cincinnati, Ohio. The PCU RN provides patient care on telemetry/progressive care patients, applying nursing standards and clinical judgment under supervision.

This travel role requires 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, and a 13-week duration. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, interventions, and family education, with emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices
• One year prior professional nursing experience preferred with one year progressive care unit experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care on a PCU
• Performs focused interviews to identify specific patients' needs
• Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition
• Documents the patient’s plan of care using identified nursing diagnoses, expected patient outcomes, and selected nursing interventions
• Provides a safe, comfortable and therapeutic patient environment
• Initiates and evaluates patient and/or family education
