Christians Hospital in St. Louis is seeking an RN/Enrolled nurse for the Progressive Care Unit. The role provides direct patient care under the nursing team and focuses on cardiac/pulmonary patients with essential safety responsibilities.

Must have completed nursing fundamentals and be enrolled in an accredited RN or BSN program. On-site role with strong learning opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package offered by BJC HealthCare.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurse with patient and family education; documents care activities with correct medical terminology.

• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Implements direct patient care under supervision of the nursing team.
• Collects clinical data and reports abnormal findings to the nurse.
• Instructs patients in preparations for tests and procedures.

Overview

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services.

Progressive Care Unit is a 40 bed unit dedicated primarily to the cardiac and pulmonary patient populations. Unit has the ability to provide cardiac monitoring for all patients on the floor. The unit is located on the 7th floor and has a ten-bed Respiratory Care Unit for individuals with choric lung illnesses. Progressive Care Unit is staffed by RN's, PCAs and clerical associates.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides multi-skilled, direct patient care, under the direction and supervision of a registered professional nurse. This job requires completion of a foundational nursing skills course or equivalent (fundamentals, foundations, or adult/peds health.
