Job summary

Highmark Health's Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to support patients transitioning from ICU, focusing on trauma, cardiac, and stroke care.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; provide leadership in a professional practice setting; delegate tasks; participate in interdisciplinary teams; promote patient safety and quality initiatives; and documentation of patient status to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current PA RN licensure (or eNLC) required.
• Preferred certification in area of specialty.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient responses and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Provide feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance.
• Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in quality initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process to implement patient care plans.
• Document changes in patient condition and notify appropriate personnel.
• Participate in professional development and peer review.
