Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, Texas is hiring a full-time RN to provide high-quality patient care in a busy unit. The role includes conducting initial assessments, coordinating consultations, and ensuring safe handoffs during day shifts (7:00am - 7:00pm, three shifts per week).

A valid RN license is required, with an Associate’s degree in nursing and BSN preferred. One+ year of acute care experience is preferred, and benefits begin on day one.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• BSN preferred.
• 1+ years acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in peer interviewing and review processes. Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiates consults as indicated, and identifies patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
• Maintains safe practices by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards. Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
