PCU RN Job Details

Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel RN)
Location: Norwich, CT 06360
Unit: Progressive Care Unit (WBH E3 PCU EXP)
Facility: Dual level of care unit (telemetry and PCU), primary stroke center
Unit Size: 25 beds (9 PCU level of care)
Shift: 12-hour day shifts
Hours per Week: 36
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025, End: 1/4/2026)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1990-$2040

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or telemetry nursing experience preferred
ACLS certification
BLS certification
NIHSS certification
Strong clinical nursing skills and ability to work as charge nurse when needed

PCU RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care in the PCU and telemetry units
Monitor and assess patients with chest pain, stroke, respiratory failure, sepsis, and other acute conditions
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5-6 on floor side, 1:3 for PCU)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
Perform charge nurse duties as required
Accurately document patient care and progress in a timely manner
