Job summary

AdventHealth in Apopka, FL is seeking a registered nurse for a full-time day shift (7:00 am – 7:00 pm). Eligible clinicians can earn salary increases up to 20% through the Clinical Ladder Program based on experience, development, and advancement criteria.

Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, developing and updating care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families to promote understanding and adherence.

Qualifications

• ASN required for RN licensure in Florida.
• Current State of Florida RN or Multistate licensure.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Minimum six months RN experience.
• English fluency in read, verbal and written form.
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Ability to apply abstract reasoning to care plans.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments across physiological, psychological and social factors.
• Develop and revise individualized care plans based on needs and standards.
• Administer medications/treatments as ordered and monitor for adverse effects.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and self-care.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.

The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing (ASN)
• Current State of Florida or Multistate licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Minimum of six (6) months previous Registered Nurse experience
• Must be fluent in English (read, verbal and written skills)
• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN)
• One (1) or more years of Registered Nurse experience in an acute care hospital setting in a Progressive Care Unit
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.

Pay Range: $31.85 - $52.76
