Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview in Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our night shift team. The role focuses on safe patient care, accurate handoffs, and collaborative teamwork to ensure efficient patient flow from admission to discharge.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, with 1+ year of recent nursing experience, and BLS/ACLS/NIHSS certifications. EPIC charting experience is preferred, and a BSN is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with current license.
• Experience with EPIC charting preferred.
• 1+ year of recent nursing experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe practice with unit-specific clinical competency and regulatory standards.
• Ensure safe handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participate in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with coworkers and other departments to manage patient flow and admissions/discharges.
• Perform initial patient assessments and identify teaching and discharge planning needs.

Job Description

• Maintains safe practice by demonstrating unit-specific clinical competency and compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Ensures safe and effective handoff communications and documentation between caregivers.
• Participates in peer interviewing and peer review processes.
• Communicates courteously with internal and external customers in person or on the telephone.
• Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.
• Participates in hourly rounding using the AIDET technique to improve patient outcomes. Incorporates Caring Model behaviors and culturally competent care into daily practice.
• Adheres to organizational standards for dress and professional appearance. Collaborates and demonstrates teamwork in managing patient flow, promoting timely patient placement by following hospital policy for admission, discharge, and transfer.
• Considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services.
• Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health and unit-specific data for process improvement initiatives.
• Conducts initial patient assessments within expected timeframes, initiate consults as indicated, and identify patient/family teaching and discharge planning needs.
