May collaborate with all clinical departments (a/k/a/telehealth) and designated staff at the patient's site for the purpose of facilitating and assisting with telehealth encounters between patients and providers.**Job Description****Job Duties*** Communicates with and supports the interprofessional team, patient, family and designated care partners.* Performs validated and designated direct and indirect patient care activities to meet patient care needs under direction of licensed clinical team members.* Actively promotes and maintains a safe patient care environment.* Provides assistance in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unit operations.* Conducts patient rounds as assigned, anticipates patient needs, and answers/responds to patient call light or pages promptly.* May be assigned the role of a virtual safety associate as needed based on campus needs.* May be required, to facilitate, under the direction of the distant provider, a clinical exam including the utilization of any required peripheral devices (e.g. electronic stethescope), other technology (e.g. video conferencing equipment) and software (e.g. Epic, Vidyo, etc) ensuring a comprehensive virtual care encounter is conducted.**Minimum Qualifications*** High School Diploma/GED* Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care needs and their role in interprofessional team.* Ability to complete delegated tasks within scope of role.* Knowledge of personal care and hygiene necessary for quality of life, and ability to apply this knowledge to patients in need on a daily basis.* Knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks.* Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care.* Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively.* Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. \\*Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
