Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) for the G101 Transplant Specialty Care Nursing Unit, a 34-bed team focused on kidney, pancreas, liver, intestine and face transplant surgeries. You will support patients and families and work with a dedicated team to uphold world-class care.

Shifts are day/evening/night/weekend, 7:00pm–7:30am or 7:00am–7:30pm. You will assist with basic patient care under an RN, monitor vital signs, and help keep rooms clean,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered.
• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, including checking vital signs, assisting with personal care, dressing changes, and applying external monitoring devices.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Military HM/68W/4N0X1 experience considered

The G101 Transplant Specialty Care Nursing Unit is a 34-bed unit specializing in kidney, pancreas, liver, intestine and face transplant surgeries while also providing supportive services to patients and their families. As a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) in this unit, you will help facilitate Cleveland Clinic’s mission of becoming the best place to receive healthcare. A caregiver in this position works day/evening/night/weekend, from 7:00pm to 7:30am or 7:00am to 7:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as checking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross before or within new hire period
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.25

Maximum hourly: $24.95
