Job summary

Tampa Microwave is seeking a PCB Rework Assembler to join our Clearwater, FL team. The role focuses on assembling and reworking production PCBs per detailed instructions, with emphasis on IPC A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC7711/21 standards.

The successful candidate will interpret blueprints, install components, and solder assemblies while maintaining quality and adhering to company policies. Onsite role with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires 3-5 years of soldering experience.
• IPC J-STD certification is required.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, schematics, and process sheets.

Responsibilities

• Assemble production assemblies/sub-assemblies using detailed instructions and drawings.
• Identify discrepancies and alert leads/engineers per documented processes.
• Install electronic components onto circuit boards per documentation.
• Solder components to PCBs using soldering iron.
• Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, and wiring diagrams.
• Meet IPC A-610, J-STD-001, IPC7711/21 standards.
• Identify components accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Tampa Microwave is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack & Fly Away satellite terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. Tampa Microwave primarily serves Federal and Department of Defense markets.

We are seeking to fill a PCB Rework Assembler position located in our Clearwater, FL location. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Responsibilities

• Utilize detailed Assembly Instructions, Process Instructions, and Production Drawings to assemble production assemblies/sub-assemblies.
• Alert the Manufacturing Lead, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or Quality Engineer of any issues/discrepancies observed that violate officially documented processes, instructions, or drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print.
• Must be able to install electronic components into various circuit board assemblies according to the process or documentation provided.
• Must be able to solder components and assemblies to printed circuit boards utilizing a soldering iron.
• Requires manual dexterity with fine motor skills along with high visual acuity.
• Ability to meet customer requirements using IPC A-610, J-STD-001, IPC7711/21 standards.
• Must be able to identify components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Fluent in the English language- written and oral
• 3-5 years of soldering experience
• IPC & J-STD certification is required
• Experience working on multi-layer PCBAs

• U.S. Citizenship Required
• Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a rework position
• Associates degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred but not required
• Quality inspection experience desired
• IPC A-610, J-STD-001, IPC7711/21 Certification
