Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a PCBA Manufacturing Test Engineer to lead test strategy and fixture development at contract manufacturers. You will work with design and manufacturing teams to validate DFM/DFT, analyze failures, and drive continuous improvement.

Require a bachelor’s in electrical or computer engineering, hands-on hardware lab experience, Linux/RHEL and scripting, and 3+ years building RF and ICT test systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience with hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, soldering tools.
• Experience in Linux/RHEL, or scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, etc.) and Ubuntu/Solaris.

Responsibilities

• Develop test strategy and optimize test setups at Contract Manufacturing sites, including fixtures, test equipment, and diagnostic software.
• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing to resolve manufacturing challenges per DFM/DFT principles.
• Identify and report product failures to manufacturing and quality teams.
• Train operators on test processes and support certification programs.
• Record, analyze, and report process metrics to predict and prevent failures.
• Support PCBA debugging and root-cause failure analysis at CM sites.
• Provide feedback on test coverage and fault trends for continuous improvement.
• Manage configuration changes and configuration control throughout the process.

Key job responsibilities

• Develop test strategy, implement and optimize test setup/processes at Contract Manufacturing sites including identification, specification, design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software.
• Work with the Design and Manufacturing teams to identify and resolve manufacturing challenges by verifying compliance with DFM and DFT principles.
• Identify and report product failures to manufacturing and quality teams.
• Train operators on test processes and support recurring certification programs.
• Record, analyze, and report process metrics to predict and eliminate process failures.
• Support PCBA debug and root-cause failure analysis at Contract Manufacturing sites.
• Provide feedback to Engineering on test coverage, fault isolation capability, and PCBA failure trends for continuous improvement efforts.
• Manage configuration changes and manage configuration control throughout the process.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• Experience in hardware lab equipment such as digital scopes, logic analyzers, and soldering tools.
• Experience in Linux/RHEL, or experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby and/or PHP) and experience in Ubuntu/Solaris.
• 3+ years of experience designing and building test fixtures and complex test systems including RF Functional Tests, High Power Electrical Tests, ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures.
• 3+ years of experience integrating software and hardware systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing and building test fixtures and complex test systems including RF Functional Tests, High Power Electrical Tests, ICT/bed-of-nails fixtures.
• Experience with test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016).
• Knowledge of software tools for test automation (e.g. NI LabVIEW and TestStand, Python, etc.).
• Experience with electrical design including power supplies, FPGAs, sensors, RF, and high-speed digital interfaces.
• Ability to write detailed tester operating procedures and create deployment/capacity plans.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
