Job summary

LeoLabs is seeking a Solder / PCB Rework Technician (Independent Contractor) in Menlo Park, CA to support production and prototype activities for radar hardware. Responsibilities include hand soldering, PCB rework, inspection, and repair of electronics and RF hardware, with a focus on quality and timely delivery.

This on-site role is project-based and requires experience with electronics assembly and ESD controls.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience in electronics assembly, soldering, or PCB rework.
Demonstrated experience with fine-pitch hand soldering and component-level rework.
Ability to read assembly drawings, work instructions, BOMs, and basic engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface mount electronic components.
Execute PCB rework, component replacement, wire modification, and blue-wire changes per work instructions or engineering direction.
Inspect solder joints, component placement, and workmanship to ensure quality standards.
Support board-level assembly, touch-up, repair, and prototype modification activities.
Identify defects, damage, or nonconformances and escalate appropriately.
Maintain clean and organized work areas and handle ESD-sensitive hardware properly.
Support production schedules by completing work on time and communicating blockers.
