Re:Build AppliedLogix seeks an experienced PCB Layout Designer to create complex multi-layer PCBs and maintain an enterprise Altium library. The role focuses on high-speed layouts, impedance control, and EMI/EMC considerations, contributing across aerospace, automotive, and medical projects.

The position is based in Rochester, NY with on-site work three days per week and flexible remote days. A related engineering degree and 5+ years of Altium experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional PCB layout experience, incl. high-complexity designs in Altium.
  • Experience designing multi-layer PCBs (6+ layers) and complex layouts.
  • Strong Altium library management—components, symbols, footprints, standards.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA, controlled impedance, high-speed routing, EMI/EMC.
  • Familiar with IPC standards IPC-7351, IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-A-600, IPC-6012.
  • Experience with component validation, QC reviews, 3D MCAD/STEP integration.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Design complex multi-layer PCBs (6+ layers) from schematic to manufacturing release.
  • Own and maintain the Altium component library, including symbols, footprints, 3D models, component data, and standards.
  • Establish library best practices that improve accuracy, consistency, and IPC compliance.
  • Conduct design rule checks, signal integrity analysis, DFM reviews, and peer reviews.
  • Generate manufacturing documentation and support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and design iterations.
  • Partner with electrical, mechanical, and signal/power integrity engineers on new product development.
  • Guide engineers on component submissions and library usage while supporting component standardization.
  • Collaborate with client engineering teams as a technical representative of Re AppliedLogix.

Our senior team of electronics, software, and mechanical engineers are fluent in a broad range of applications including fuel cell control and battery management systems, precision agriculture, medical devices, automotive and transportation components, and imaging systems with machine vision and AI processing integration.

The Re:Build AppliedLogix Team provides design expertise for all facets of modern digital product development - with custom analog and digital embedded electronics; VHDL and Verilog targeting FPGAs, embedded software on bare-metal, RTOS or Linux; full-stack application development (Linux and Windows). Our mechanical design capabilities include the packaging of embedded systems, tooling design, and manufacturing process development.

Location: Onsite in Rochester, NY,expected to work on-site approximately three days per week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days.

Re AppliedLogix is looking for an experienced PCB Layout Designer who combines strong PCB design expertise with disciplined component library management. You’ll contribute to complex electronics projects across advanced energy, automotive, defense and aerospace, medical devices, and robotics and automation.

You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy solving complex layout challenges, creating consistent design standards, and collaborating across engineering disciplines. This full-time role is based in the Rochester, NY area with flexible remote work options and periodic on-site collaboration.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 5+ years of professional PCB layout experience, including high-complexity designs in Altium Designer.
  • Experience designing multi-layer PCBs (6+ layers) and complex circuit layouts.
  • Strong Altium library management experience, including component databases, symbols, footprints, and standards.
  • Knowledge of DFM/DFA, controlled impedance, high-speed signal routing, and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Knowledge of relevant IPC standards, including IPC-7351, IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-A-600, and IPC-6012.
  • Experience with component validation, technical QC reviews, and 3D MCAD/STEP integration.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC CID or CID+ certification.
  • Component engineering or formal library administration experience.
  • Experience training or mentoring engineers.
  • Knowledge of component lifecycle management and obsolescence tracking
