Job summary

Winston-Salem Journal is looking for compassionate caregivers to provide personal care services for elderly clients in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Ideal candidates should have a passion for caring, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills.

This role includes assisting with daily activities and ongoing monitoring of clients' health, following an established care plan. The company offers a flexible schedule, competitive pay, and various training programs.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Current TB Test.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Nurse Aide or Personal Care Assistant.
• 30-40 hours of basic care training required.
• 1-3 Years of experience preferred.
• Completion of a written Competency Evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and related paraprofessional services.
• Assist with clients' daily activities.
• Provide standby assistance for bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Observe and document the client’s health.
• Communicate effectively with clients and family members.

Job Description

• Provides various personal care and related paraprofessional services in accordance with an established plan of care. Provides for the personal needs and comfort of patients in their homes.
• Assist with clients’ daily activities.
• Strong communication skills – must be able to communicate effectively with client as well as family members.
• Provide standby assistance to clients in situations such as helping with bathing, dressing, toileting and other basic activities of life.
• Observing the client’s day-to-day physical and mental health. Document care provided and report any concerns per agency policy.
