Job summary

The Abide in Union County, NC is seeking compassionate and reliable caregivers to join our small residential assisted living home. You will support residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and help with medication management to ensure attentive, person-centered care.

We value a family-oriented culture, low resident-to-staff ratios, and opportunities for growth. Full-time day shifts (7a-7p) with alternating weekends are available.

Qualifications

• NC Adult Care Home Medication Aide certification required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with/without assistance.
• Current CPR certification.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Experience with older adults or dementia care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities including mobility, bathing, dressing, and meals.
• Provide companionship and support, engaging in activities and conversation.
• Assist with medication management and administration.
• Maintain accurate records of client care.
• Communicate with clients, families, and team members.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Perform light housekeeping duties around resident areas.
• Observe changes in residents’ condition and report findings.
• Foster a caring, respectful environment upholding dignity.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Abide is seeking compassionate and reliable caregivers to join our team and provide high-quality care to our residents. Caregivers will be responsible for assisting residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, as well as providing companionship and support. Successful candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure each resident receives attentive, person-centered care.

Shifts Overview:

• Seeking full-time coverage for day shifts, typically 3 shifts/week 7a-7p with alternating weekends

Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with daily living activities, including mobility, bathing, dressing, and meal preparation
• Provide companionship and support to clients, including engaging in activities and conversation
• Assist with medication management and administration
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client care
• Communicate effectively with clients and their families, as well as other team members and management
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and procedures
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, tidying resident rooms, and maintaining common areas
• Observe and report any changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive condition
• Foster a caring, respectful environment that upholds each resident' dignity and individuality
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• NC Adult Care Home Medication Aide certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with assistance or mechanical devices.
• Current CPR certification
• Compassionate, patient, and reliable personality
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Previous experience working with older adults or individuals living with dementia (including home health, assisted living, or other long term care experience)
